Blood & Water - September 26th - November 7th

Tracing a lineage of conversation with ancestral memory, Blood and Water meditates on Afro-Caribbean and Yoruba spirituality. Through abstract imagery of figure and landscape, Forrester extends the depiction of diasporic bodies beyond the limits of Western representation; holding both the individual and the collective experience of people of color. The work takes as its premise that we are all born from water and made of blood, and that our ancestors' journeys shape our position and our perspective.
